UK Survival Guides Pick to the Top 3 Budget Friendly Solar Flashlights

UK Survival Guides Pick to the Top 3 Budget Friendly Solar Flashlights

While a flashlight is certainly a valuable piece of equipment to include with your preps, there are so many different ones available that it can become overwhelming when choosing the perfect budget friendly flashlight for you. This is where this guide comes in.

In choosing our top 3 solar flashlights, we didn’t just take into consideration the price, but also such factors as how portable they were, the brightness, and whether or not they would actually last. So let’s get straight in with our top 3 in no particular order. At the end of the guide we will also include links to other flashlights that are worth a mention but just didn’t quite make our top 3.

Hybrid Solar Flashlight With Battery Backup

You don’t get much more budget friendly than the Hybrid solar flashlight but don’t let the price fool you. This is a great little flashlight.

  • Recharges with any light source
  • One full charge gives 8 hours of light
  • Can hold a charge for 3 years
  • 100% waterproof and it floats!

The Hybrid solar flashlight has a nice strong, durable design that can also be used in water – and it floats too. The rechargeable solar panel generates power, storing it for later use. Includes a backup battery source in case the solar power is discharged.

Power source indicator lights tell you which power source you are using and encourage the use of alternative energy. This flashlight weighs only 4.8 ounces and can easily be slid into the side pockets of your bug out bag.

One thing that I would like to mention though is that this does not use the standard AA or AAA batteries but instead uses CR2032 lithium pill batteries. It isn’t the brightest but will certainly allow you to see what it is that you need to do.

ECEEN Solar Powered Flashlight

The ECEEN flashlight actually came out on top in our tests and by this I mean, it performed just as good if not better than some of the bigger branded and more expensive items.

Not only is the ECEEN chargeable via the sun, it can also be charged via the included USB cable. If you’re looking for a solar flashlight that will provide you with incredible brightness, then this model is an excellent choice. This is a good choice of lighting for a number of different uses, including camping, travelling, and home emergencies.

This flashlight is made out of sturdy aluminium alloy. In addition to its durability, it is also waterproof, with a portable, lightweight size, and a handle that is textured so that your hands won’t slip on it when you’re using it.

Secur Dynamo Flashlight

Our third choice is the Secur Dynamo 8 lumen solar LED rechargeable flashlight and this is a cool one to say the least.

It charges easily enough with the built-in dynamo or solar panel and is waterproof up to 45 feet. This flashlight has been designed for continued use in storms, floods and other disasters making it perfect for your bug out bag.

On a full charge you can expect to get around 4 hours with 3 LEDs, 8 hours with 1 LED. If you choose to charge via crank then 1 minute cranking = 80 minutes lighting. Life on LEDs – 50000 hours.

Final Thoughts

Well there you have our choice of the top 3 budget friendly solar powered flashlights. Although we’ve only suggested 3 different models of flashlights to help kick on your search, shop around and see what works best for you.
